The Vanities opener page in the magazine—conceived as our so-called “second cover”—turns 20 this year. And so, for its birthday, we look at back at the making of the page throughout its history—including its aesthetic inspiration (hattip, Elvgren!) and the ingenues-turned-A-listers who made the cut.
