She’s speaking to all-thumbs Lady Edith, who is inspecting the new string of dormitory beds like they’re a row of post-hunt pheasants, seeping gizzards on the lawn. In the summer-set span of this episode, Downton has fully transformed into a convalescent home for recuperating officers, which, it’s soon revealed, hasboth human-resources and interior-decorating implications.”
